RV: Where were you born and raised? And can you tell us something about your family?
NAM:: I was born and raised in Kuwait City. I spent my summers in a camp in New Hampshire growing up called Camp Robin Hood from 1979-1988. After high school, I completed my undergraduate education in Boston in the United States and my graduate education in New York City.

Con la pena comminata dal tribunale di Algeri per delle vignette pubblicate alla fine del 2003 contro il presidente Abdelaziz Bouteflika, Ali Dilem dovrebbe a questo punto passare un totale di circa nove anni nelle prigioni patrie.

All'inizio c'era Ali, il primo supereroe benedetto da Allah, protagonista del fumetto Vimanarama, andato a ruba lo scorso anno a Londra e New York. Era un ragazzo di Bradford, di origini pakistane, in rotta di collisione con la famiglia tradizionalista. Insomma il prodotto del multiculturalismo pi ottimista, andato in crisi dopo le bombe al "tube" londinese. Ora pez sta per arrivate THE 99, una saga tutta mediorientale, che pareggia i conti.

Je to jedinečný projekt. Kuvajtský psycholog Naíf Mutava se rozhodl, že pro muslimské děti na celém světě vytvoří to, co jim podle něj nesmírně chybí: hrdiny, které pro jejich dobré vlastnosti mohou obdivovat a milovat. Přesněji řečeno komiksové hrdiny. Ti však nebudou kopií supermanů, které znají děti na Západě.
