Fans of THE 99, take a first look at the cover of JLA/THE 99 #1- in which the Justice League would be teaming with the THE 99 superheroes to ward off a globe-spanning threat. The cover has been produced by artist Felipe Massafera. The first issue of the six-issue mini-series, from writers Stuart Moore and Fabian Nicieza with art by Tom Derenick hits in October.

Dr.Naif Al-Mutawa, creator of THE 99 superheroes, was recognized by Former Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Amad Badawi for his outstanding personal achievement in the creation of THE 99 and setting up of Teshkeel Media Group.
Dr. Naif Al-Mutawa received two prestigious awards in June 2010 from Intersections International in New York City and the World Halal Forum in Malaysia. The awards are in recognition of his being as the creator of THE 99, the first group of comic superheroes born of an Islamic archetype.
